What is Recall and how does it work?

Recall is a personal active recall system. Claude Desktop explains a topic to you and then asks you to remember what you learned in your own words. The system saves your answer, scores it, and tracks your progress over time, scheduling reviews with spaced repetition so you study right before you forget.

How do I connect Claude Desktop?

Recall works as an MCP server. In Claude Desktop, open the configuration file (claude_desktop_config.json) and add Recall as an MCP server using the site URL ending in /api/mcp and your Bearer token. The Prompt page (inside the app, once signed in) has ready-to-copy system prompt templates. You get the token when you create your account.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it's free. You need to create an account with your email so the system can store your topics and progress privately, separated from other users.

Where is my data stored?

Your topics, recalls and progress are stored in a secure database (Supabase) and only you can see them: every account is isolated from the rest. We don't share or sell your information.

How does spaced repetition work?

Every time you do a recall, the system scores how much you retained and works out when you should review that topic (using an SM-2-style algorithm). Topics you remember well get spaced further apart; the ones you struggle with come back sooner. You study less and retain more.
